Welcome to the University of Abuja.

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the website of the University of Abuja. Located in a vibrant and easily-accessible suburb of the Nigerian Federal Capital, the University offers a conducive academic environment for students and scholars alike. Established to provide sound scholarship in a unifying environment, the University has become a centre of attraction for students and academics from all over the Nigerian Federation.

 From humble beginnings in 1990, the University has grown to encompass ten faculties, with a total undergraduate population of nearly 10,000. This is in addition to the School of Graduate Studies, which runs postgraduate programmes in several disciplines. The Centre for Distance Learning and Continuing Education, located in the heart of the city of Abuja, provides educational opportunities for workers and other mature students.

 To accommodate the burgeoning population of staff and students, as well as provide for a better-equipped and more conducive academic environment, efforts are being intensified to move to the University’s permanent site.

 All these and more you will find on this site. In addition I need to mention the diverse and pleasant people of this University community. You will find here such a welcome as will linger in your memory for long. So, should you find yourself in Abuja, please free to visit our campus.
